Spring Has Sprung

Spring has sprung...and early! It seems everyone is waking up and shaking off the winter blues! This is my favourite time of year. Its warm and our lowest rainfall month... Lovely mild days (23-26 most days) and (September) nights that are still cool and crisp enough to enjoy a fire. Even the wildlife at Revelwood comes out again to play. This includes our turtles, platypus, water dragons, wallabies, possums and bandicoots. You might think its a bit of a stretch, but you'll see two-legged wildlife too!

Many festivals happen this time of year due to the low chance of rain.

Our local (and world famous) gay group, Tropical Fruits is holding its "Fruitopia" Fair Day again on August 28th. This even plays host to a range of market stalls, dog shows, lookalike competitions, drag shows, live music, DJs, face painting, raffles, Trash and Treasure and the not-to-be-missed ACON ‘Cake My Day’ Bake-Off.

Don't forget DELICIOUS in Lismore. This is a monthly event, popular with the local boys, where quality "Underground Nu Disco" & House Music are played.

To celebrate and share the exquisite food produce, restaurants and people of the NSW Northern Rivers region, The Bangalow Food Festival will be held on Saturday September 10th at Bangalow Showgrounds. Farmers markets and a range of food produce, health and lifestyle stalls will fill the Bangalow Showgrounds. From 9am till 3pm, work your way around the festival and try a selection of $5 and $10 tasting plates prepared by local chefs.

The Mullum Music Festival returns on November 24-27.The annual festival offers multi-venue performances of local, national and international acts and workshops. Now in its third year, the line up features the likes of Kaki King (US), Washington, Salmonella DJ Sound System (NZ), Pieta (USA), Harry James Angus (Cat Empire), Jen Cloher, Jordie Lane, Mama Kin and plenty of others.

On the 4th Sunday of every month - 9am to 3pm is the popular Bangalow Markets offering alternative arts and crafts, eclectic entertainment and fabulous fresh local produce

On Spring evenings you can toast marshmallows over a campfire in the picnic ground, curl up with a book by our fireplace, watch a blockbuster on our state of the art home cinema or soak in our brand new spa with a view!

Revel In Your Relationship

Welcome to Spa Saturdays

We are pleased to introduce you to our brand new spa with a view.

Situated on our deck overlooking Byron Creek, it's a great new attraction for locals as well as travellers.

We've moved our Spa Sundays to Saturdays, starting in September, we'll be offering our guests a chance to meet the locals at our Spa Saturday Celebrations from 1pm to 6pm. Many people visiting the beach drop by on their way home.

Price for day-trippers and locals is just $15.

We'll also be hosting a sausage sizzle during the afternoon, with food and drinks available at very reasonable rates.

We aim to hold these events most Saturdays but please contact us ahead of time as there will be occasional exceptions. There will definitely be NO spa event on Saturday 10 September, due to the Bangalow Food Festival and October 1 and 8 due to a bookout.

Work at Revelwood

We are conscious that not all people who could benefit from staying here could afford the prices we need to charge in the B&B to pay our mortgage. We had always seen Revelwood more as a place of learning and community than just a regular B&B, so we decided to welcome wwoofers, who could enjoy the surroundings and contribute to Revelwood’s development at the same time. If you are a member of WWOOF Australia (Willing Workers On Organic Farms) we invite you to apply to join us at Revelwood.

WWOOFers should expect to do 4 to 6 hours of farming /gardening/houskeeping work in exchange for a days food and board (depending on factors like season, workload, quality of their work and the accommodation, etc). These hours can be flexible so WWOOFers have free days. While you and we are working to ensure that the paying guests can fully relax into their surroundings, the surprise is that the work is so often so much fun!
